Third Conference on International Corporate Responsibility
Keynote Speaker Walden Bello, Professor of Public Administration and Sociology at the University of the Philippines Diliman, will be the keynote speaker at ICR 2006. He will speak on the responsibilities of corporations in an era of globalization. Professor Bello is a well known authority, as well as activist, on globalization and north/south issues. He has authored some 14 books, including his recent volumes Deglobalization and Dilemmas of Domination. He won the New California Media Award for Best International Reporting in 1998. The Belgian newspaper Le Soir recently called Bello "the most respected anti-globalisation thinker in Asia." In 2003 he was one of the recipients of the Right Livelihood Award (the "Alternative Nobel Prize"); his biography and acceptance speech may be found here.
